The DC trip was awesome. First, we had the baseball game on Saturday. A bunch of Deadspinners met up at The Pour House around 3 pm and had a few beers together. We headed for the game around 5:30 and then I miserably watched the Cardinals get shelled. The 2nd baseman riding the bench even got to pitch an inning and he didn’t give up any runs. Crazy.
Afterwards, we all went out. Sunday Tom and I went back to the game and met Marc, another commenter, who happens to work at RFK Stadium. That day he was a “handler” for the racing Presidents, making sure they don’t run into things with their giant heads.
Monday my new friend Matt Brown adopted me for the day and we spent our time going to monuments, memorials, the National Archives and whatnot. We then grabbed some dinner and went to The Simpsons Movie.
Tuesday I was on my own, so I did the American Art Museum, National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery and Union Station. Then Tuesday night I just took it easy. Wednesday I had a few hours before my flight, so I ducked into the Air and Space Museum and then saw the Sharks IMAX 3D movie at the Natural History museum. It was a great time!
