Mary Poppins is on ABC Family tonight. Awwww. I watched this movie incessantly when I was little. I had such a crush on Burt. “When you’re with Mary Poppins, suddenly you’re in places you’ve never dreamed of. And quick as you can say ‘Bob’s your uncle,’ the most unusual things begin to happen.”

One would think that in a town that is largely Catholic and features a university whose mascot is the Fightin’ IRISH, St. Patty’s Day festivities would be rockin’ around here, no? NO. Last night, a decent-sized group of us (15, which for a Monday is pretty good) got together to pre-game it at Spicy Curry’s house. We were there from 9:30 til about 11:15, at which time we rounded everybody up and headed to Club Landing for their big tent party with booze and live music. Except we got there and they were closing at midnight! And we were like, “Uhhh, okay.” So we hauled our cookies back across town to Houlihan’s, who also had a giant tent party and they were closing too! So we went back to Spicy Curry’s house, ordered pizza and watched Futurama, The Daily Show and the Colbert Report. Happy St. Patrick’s Day everybody!
