I’ve been waitressing this summer at a live music venue called The Hub.  It’s a fun little place, with great bosses/owners and a fun staff of bartenders, waitresses and door guys.  Woot woot for making me feel 22 years old again.  I spent last night doing shots and drinking beer for an hour after close with one of the bartenders and one of the owners.  It’s a good time.

Last night there was a band called Mike Butterworth and the Heroes, made up of a couple members of The Nadas.  They were fine.  They are not the point of the story.

Handsome fellas.

Handsome fellas.

The opening act… was awesome.  They are called Pictures of Then.  They’re a Minneapolis-based band made up of 5 delightful men.  I spent the early part of the night watching the Twins game with them, they put on a bitchin’ indie rock show and then we all went to after hours and they jammed out to stuff I know so I could sing along.  They want me to sit in with them the next time they’re in town.  Be sure and check them out at the link above.

My rudimentary Spanish tells me he says, “Hi, my name is Marcelo, I am from Santiago, Chile. I would love to be your friend and share large things [ed.’s note: woo woo?] and adventures. My email is [redacted]. A kiss and take care. You are marvelous, an angel.”

Well… that’s nice.

The Masters

I freakin’ love The Masters.  I’ve signed on at In The Weeds, an awesome collaborative golf blog.  We’re trying our hands at live-blogging the Masters, which is proving difficult as it is not on TV yet.  But we’re doing our best.  Join us, won’t you?

Vegas is insane.  I drank and watched basketball in a sportsbook for 13.5 hours, then hit up the Wynn for a seafood buffet and some gamblin.’  I got adopted by some really nice fellas from Arizona and we’re meeting up again tomorrow.  Sleep now.
